Doggie Recipes!


Sweet potato dog chews

1 large sweet potato

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut the potato into 1/3" slices, no smaller than 1/4".

Place them on the baking sheet & bake for 3 hours, turning halfway through.

Cool completely on wire rack.

They will keep refrigerated for 3 weeks, frozen for 4 months.

*Baking for 3 hours results in a soft, but chewy dog treat. If your dog prefers more of acrunch, then bake for an additional 20-30 minutes. When you take the sweet potatoes out of the oven, they may at first appear to be too soft. Let them cool completely on a wire rack before you decide whether or not to bake them longer. This is because they will continue to dry or harden while cooling.

Homemade Dog Treat Recipe Cheesie Bacon Biscuits

3/4 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1 stick margarine,softened

2/3 cup brown sugar

1 egg, slightly beaten

1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

1 1/2 cups regular oats, uncooked

1 cup (4 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese

2/3 cup wheat germ

1/2 lb. bacon, cooked crisp, drained,and crumbled

Combine flour, soda and salt; mix well and set aside. Cream butter and sugar; beat in egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture, mixing well. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 16 minutes. Cool on baking sheet for a minute or so before removing to cooling rack.

Frosty Dog Cubes

Mix large container of plain Yogurt with ground Carrots, Apples (raw or cooked) or lightly cooked ground Liver.

Ladle into ice-cube trays and freeze.

Homemade Dog Treat Recipe Party Pupcakes

1 large apple

1 1/2 cups wheat flour

1/4 cup oatmeal

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup plain yogurt

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup vegetable oil

2 tablespoons honey

2 eggs

1 cup grated cheddar cheese

For the Frosting :

8 oz Neufchatel Cheese (lowfat cream cheese)

2 tablespoons plain yogurt

2 tablespoons honey

2-3 tablespoons flour

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 ° F (200 ° C). Grease muffin tins. Core, slice and mince the apple (use a food processor if you have one). Set aside. In a large bowl, mix together flour, oatmeal, baking powder, and baking soda. In a medium bowl, blend together the yogurt, water, oil, honey, and eggs, then stir in the apple and cheese. Add to the flour mixture and stir until mixed. Spoon into the muffin tins, filling each cup about three-quarters full. Bake for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean. Let rest in the muffin tins for a few minutes, then remove and set aside to cool. For the frosting, combine the Neufchatel cheese (at room temperature), honey, and yogurt until smooth. Add enough flour to thicken the frosting to a good spreading consistency. Frost the pupcakes and you're ready for a doggone good party! Makes 16-18 pupcakes. If you prefer a single-layer cake, spoon the batter into a sheet pan and bake for an extra 15-20 minutes (or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean). Let the cake cool, then frost and decorate.

Doggy Pizza

crust:

preheat oven to 325 F

3 1/4 cupflour

1/4 cup cornmeal

1 tsp. baking soda

topping:

1/2 cup tomato paste

1/4 cup parmesan cheese

1/4 cup mozzarella cheese

1 tsp. garlic powder

4 mushrooms (sliced)

1/4 cup sundried raisans (optional)

Mix ingredients together in a large bowl.Knead it for 4 to 5 minutes.Roll out on a pizza pan and put inpreheated oven for 25-30 minutes.Put back in oven at 200 F for 10 minutesthen let cool for 5 minutes before servingEnjoy!

Cheese-N-Garlic Dog Bites

Dog Food Recipe Ingredients:

1 cup wheat flour

1 cup grated cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon garlic powder ( not garlic salt!)

1 tablespoon soft butter or margarine

1/2 cup milk Dog Food

Recipe Directions:

Mix flour and cheese together. Add garlic powder and softened butter. Slowly add milk till you form a stiff dough. You may not need all of the milk. Knead on floured board for a few minutes. Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into shapes and place on un-greased cookie sheet.Bake 350 degrees oven for 15 minutes. Let cool in oven with the door slightly open till cold and firm. Refrigerate to keep fresh.

Yummy Chicken Freezies

2 cubes beef or chicken bouillon chicken pieces 2 cups water Disolve the bouillon in the water.Spoon some bouillon into an ice cube tray and put some chicken pieces in it.Repeat until bouillon is used up.Freeze for about 12 hours.Enjoy!

Homemade Dog Treat Recipe Oatmeal Cookie Treats

2 cups rice 2 packages Reg. Flavor oatmeal (mixed w/milk)

1/4 cup molasses

1 cup carrots

1/3 cup spinach

1 1/4 cup flour

1/2 tbsp brown gravy mix

4 tbsp applesauce

1/2 tbsp vegetable oil Preheat oven to 350degrees Stir Ingredients, but adding flour gradually. Drop on cookie sheet using tsp. Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Makes approx. 20 cookies. Enjoy!!!

Doggie Mush

This is cooked in a 6-8 qt steamer/ stock pot. You can break it down & either refrigerate it for up to 1 week or freeze it & thaw as needed.

DO NOT MICROWAVE NO CORN NO ONION NO SALT NO CANNED VEGGIES.

2 qts. Water

1 qt. Goats milk

4 c. Old fashioned oatmeal or barley (not instant or 1 minute)

1 dozen eggs

4 c. Any fresh or frozen veggies (peas, carrots, squash, spinach, tomatoes, etc.. DO NOT USE ONIONS, CABBAGE, OR BRUSSEL SPROUTS!)

1/4 c. Minced garlic (or garlic powder... NOT GARLIC SALT)

1 C. Ground flax seed Add any fresh or frozen meat... (chicken, pork, turkey, beef, or fish. NO DELI MEATS.

Remove any bones. Toss all ingredients in pot & cook for 25-30 minutes, let it cool briefly & then run through blender...

For a little extra nutrition for your dog add 1 1/2 cups of doggie mush to your Boxers breakfast & dinner bowl.

DOG BISCUITS

1 teaspoon instant beef bouillon 1/2 cup hot water

2 1/4 cups whole-wheat flour 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk

1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 egg

1 jar (about 31/4 ounces) bacon-flavored pieces

1 tablespoon firmly, packed brown sugar

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a medium bowl, dissolve bouillon in

water. Add remaining ingredients, stirring until well blended. On a lightly

floured surface, use a floured rolling pin to roll out dough to 1/8-inch

thickness. Use a 2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out dough.

Transfer to a greased baking sheet. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until firm.

Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.

Yield: about 6 dozen doggie biscuits

Liver Treats

Take chicken or beef liver, cleanand cut (if necessary).

Put in a dehydrator and dehydrate for 24 hours.

Great for training and the dogs love them.

PeanutButter Crunchies

3 Cups Whole Wheat Flour 1 1/2 Cups Milk

1/2 Cups Rolled Oats 1 1/4 Cups Peanut Butter

2 Teaspoons Baking Powder 1 Tablespoon Molasses

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Combine the flour, oats and baking powder in a large bowl. In a blender or food

processor, mix milk, peanut butter and molasses until smooth andadd to dry

ingredients. Kneed the ingredients together using your hands. Rolldough out to desired

thickness and cut with cookies cutters. Bake for about 20 minutes.Check while cooking and turn if needed.

Carob Crunchers

2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil

1/4 Cup Carob Powder 1 Tablespoon Honey

1 Teaspoon Bone Meal Corn Meal

1 Egg Beaten 1/3 Cup Milk

Preheat the oven to 350degrees.

In a large bowl, combine flour,carob powder and bone meal. Add the remaining ingredients (except for the cornmeal) mix well. Sprinkle a board with cornmeal and roll dough out to desired thickness.Cut into shapes using cookie cutters. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet forabout 20 minutes. Check while cooking and turn if needed.

Liver Brownies

1 POUND LIVER, PUREED

1 CUP FLOUR

1 CUP CORN MEAL

STIR TOGETHER, POUR INTO PAN

BAKE AT 300 DEGREES F FOR 20 TO 30 MINUTES

Birthday Cake

4 Cups Whole Wheat Flour Peanut Butter Frosting

4 Tablespoons Liver Powder 1 Container Whipped Cream Cheese

4 Teaspoons Baking Powder Peanut Butter (at least 1/2 cup) 2/3 Cup Vegetable Oil

2 Eggs Beaten 2 Cups Beef Stock

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

In a bowl, combine flour, liver powder and baking powder. Add the remaining

ingredients and mix well. Grease cake pan (I use a small roundone, 6") and put batter in

pan. Bake for about 25 minutes. Let cool, frost and decorate. Youcan cut the cake

down the middle if you want to put icing in the middle or justfrost cake as is.
